Las Vegas, the Phoenix in 2008 bid was not successful for Westercon 61 in
the voting at ConZilla. Our congratulations go out to the Burning Fan committee. Our
bid has been continued for WesterCon 62, to be held in 2009.

Palms, in downtown Tempe, Arizona.
This is the site used for the 2004 World
Fantasy Convention and the 2006 Nebula Awards Weekend.
Downtown Tempe has many restuarants, shopping,
two theatres all within easy walking distance. The Mission Palms
also has a great view of the fireworks at the annual Tempe 4th of July
Festival.

For the Phoenix in 2008 WesterCon bid we have 4 categories
of pre-support membership:
Groovy Guy - $10 gets you a $10 credit towards your
attending membership if we win.
Rat Fink - $20 includes the benefits of Groovy
Guy membership plus a World Fantasy Con 2004 book bag, (while supplies
last).
Fab Friend - $50 includes the benefits of a Rat
Fink membership plus we'll cover the voting fee at Westercon 2006
(ConZilla in San Diego) on your ballot; you'll still need either a Supporting
or Attending membership in the 2006 Westercon in order to vote.
Cool Cat - $100 includes the benefits of a Fab
Friend membership plus we'll cover the Supporting membership fee
in the 2006 WesterCon, if needed, for your vote, plus we'll give you a
seat at the banquet we offer at the 2008 Westercon (provided we win).
